SERVE CHICO IMPACT PLANNING TEAM

The Serve Chico Impact Team is your opportunity to step in as a community leader and put your faith into practice in practical and meaningful ways. We need people with a vision of how to love our city, whether it’s singing and spending time with the elderly or helping with landscaping and painting for our mission partners throughout the city, cleaning up bike paths, or anything else that may be overlooked. Being part of the Serve Chico Impact Team rallies those at Bidwell but also invites other churches to come together to contribute small acts of faithfulness that become part of something bigger—God’s restoring work in our community. Join the movement by taking part in planning and guiding people in seeing where Jesus' hands and feet need to be touched, and see more of how God uses you to join Him in the restoration of our world.

"Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?"

- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)

Serve Chico 2022

FOR THE GOOD OF THE CITY...

Serve Chico brings people together to be the hands and feet of Jesus through practical, meaningful projects across our city. From singing and spending time with the elderly to landscaping, painting, and serving alongside our mission partners, there are simple ways for everyone to make a difference. Step in and be part of what God is doing to bring care, connection, and restoration to Chico with us.

WHAT'S NEEDED?

What’s needed isn’t perfection or a long list of skills—it’s a willingness to show up and care. Serve Chico thrives when people bring their time, their compassion, and a simple readiness to step into whatever is needed, whether that’s encouraging someone who feels forgotten or tackling work that often goes unseen. When each person offers what they have, those small acts come together into something far greater—real impact in our city and a visible expression of God’s love at work.

What’s also needed are people willing to take ownership—those who can help organize, lead, and guide others into meaningful opportunities to serve. This is where our Serve Chico Impact Planning Team comes in, to plan projects, rally teams, and encourage others to simply step in and fill the gaps—but every role matters.

As people use their gifts together, clarity grows, needs are met, and more of our city is reached with intentional care. This is how a movement builds—not through a few doing everything, but through many faithfully doing something.

WHY DOES SERVE CHICO MATTER?

Serve Chico matters because our city is full of real people with real needs—some seen, many unseen. Simple acts like listening, helping, and showing up can remind someone they are not forgotten. When we serve, we reflect the heart of Jesus in tangible ways that people can experience, not just hear about.

But it’s more than meeting needs—it’s about joining in what God is already doing. Every project, every conversation, every act of care becomes part of something bigger than us. Over time, these moments build trust, strengthen community, and point people toward hope that lasts.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN SERVE CHICO?

Serve Chico is open to anyone willing to step in and make a difference. This is not just about Bidwell, but we invite the body of Christ in Chico to serve with us. When people from different backgrounds unite around a common purpose, something powerful happens—service becomes a bridge, even across generations, that brings people closer to each other and to God.

You don’t need special experience or a specific skillset—just a willingness to show up and serve where needed. Whether you’re outgoing or quiet, hands-on or relational, there’s a place for you to contribute in a way that fits how you’re wired.

We seek families, small groups, and even other congregations to come together and create a shared experience that builds connection to make a transformative impact on our city and the hearts of its people.
