Special Events

Refuge Winter Retreat – February 8-10

Last February, Refuge spent a fantastic weekend at La Porte Union Hotel near Lassen National Forest. In the wake of all the chaos and trauma of the Camp Fire, we think getting away and spending quality time with God and our friends is all the more important. Join us in this elegant, historic building (which we get all to ourselves!) for a time to renew and refresh. Depart: 3:30 p.m. Friday February 8 (Meet at BPC at 3:00 p.m.), return: ARound 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10. We’ll provide transportation, Friday’s dinner through brunch on Sunday, and two nights at this unique, exclusive hotel. Cost: $150.

Operation Spring Breakout – March 18-21

Every year during spring break, BPC high schoolers travel somewhere to share the love of Christ in tangible ways. We’ve visited Mexican orphanages, worked with the homeless in San Francisco, served Native Americans on the Navajo and Yakima Reservations, and helped with hurricane cleanup efforts in Texas.

This year, with a life-changing natural disaster in our community, we’ve decided to focus our efforts closer to home. In response to the Camp Fire, our BPC high school kids have decided to host a day camp for 1st-5th graders during the week of spring break. We want to provide a fun experience for kids directly and indirectly affected by the fire.

If you would like to participate in creating this adventure for kids, please complete the application below and submit it to jchristophersen@bidwellpres.org or turn it in at the church office.

Service Trip Fundraiser – January 18

In the aftermath of the Camp Fire, our BPC high schoolers are hosting a spring break day camp for 1st-5th graders directly and indirectly affected by the fire. How can you help? You can enjoy a delicious meal! The funds raised by your meal purchase will go toward making this a memorable week for kids.
What’s on the menu? If you liked last year’s dinner, you’ll be happy to see it return: tri-tip, beans, salad, and cookies. Each order feeds up to four.
How much? $50 per order. When do I pick it up? Jan. 18th, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Where do I pick it up? BPC Parking lot (208 W. 1st St.). Don’t even get out of your car; just drive through and we’ll run it out to you!
Do I have to pick it up? Nope! If you live in Chico, we will deliver your dinner straight to your door for $5 per address.

Count me in! How do I order? Trip participants have five tickets to sell. You can make an order by completing the meal order form on the back of one of these tickets. You can also order a meal online by clicking the button below. You can designate your order to benefit a particular trip participant. There are a limited number of tickets, so purchase well before the Jan. 9 deadline to ensure you get a meal!
I don’t want a meal; can I donate? Of course! You may give a tax-deductible gift via check (to Bidwell Presbyterian Church) by clicking the button below.
