Jessica Lazdins Update
Jessica Lazdins was the college ministry intern here at Bidwell from 2006-2008. She has the spent the last 2 years in Sarajevo, Bosnia working with college students through the organization IFES (International Fellowship of Evangelical Students).
Robyn Buchanan - City Central
I love Christmas. And I love New Years. And I love that New Years comes right after Christmas. I experience a revival of love for Christ every Christmas season. I blame the Christmas hymns; but maybe it’s just the Spirit of the season. Either way, I love starting the New Year with the refreshing of Christmas and my prayer for you, my friend, is that you are starting 2012 refreshed. Life in Tacoma continues to be full of friends, rain, laughter, challenges, fun, learning, and lots and lots of kids. My SOZO Mama’s are doing well. Okay, mostly well. I am spending more time with two of them specifically, and still believe they are two of the coolest people alive. Both are working very hard serving hamburgers at Sonics, doing their best to raise children who love God, and surviving in living situations that would wreck anyone of us. Needless to say, I am very proud. I’ve been asking the Lord for a volunteer who would come alongside me and commit to mentoring one teen mom. I want more to be reached! Would you echo my prayers and pray for these two Mama’s and a new volunteer right now?
Our young adult ministry at City Central is thriving! More and more college students continue to find themselves at home with us, and are learning to follow Jesus with everything they are. We are planning our annual Catalyst Encounter, a free conference for young adults in the Pacific Northwest. We are expecting hundreds of young adults to come and receive vision, encouragement, and a renewed passion. Will you please pray for the Encounter, Feb 24 & 25, right now? Please pop-in on my blog to read more about ministry, random thoughts (I recently posted one about hip hop artists), and what the Lord is teaching me. I’m studying the Jewish Feasts right now, so expect a meal soon!
