Foundation for the Children of Haiti

Haiti continues to be the poorest country in the western hemisphere.  The United States Foundation for the Children of Haiti (USFCH) is dedicated to providing financial, medical, and religious support and assistance to the needy children of Haiti.  The orphanage/school/hospital provide for the care of children including severely disabled and hundreds of families in the community. Through these efforts, children who might otherwise die as a consequence of the worst poverty, have an opportunity to live and grow in an environment of love and security.  www.usfch.org

New Life Homes, Swaziland

Peter and Mary Jean Kopp, began New Life Homes in 1998 to address the growing need to care for orphans of the HIV and AIDS crisis.  The children at New Life Homes have lost both parents and have no extended family to care for them. Currently there are four homes, each which accommodate 10 to 12 children and a Swazi house mom who nurtures the children.  There is a 150 acre farm, which produces free range eggs, broiler chickens, pigs and field crops for market.  The vision for the farm is to sustain itself with the food it raises for market and from each home’s vegetable garden.  A preschool and primary school serve the New Life Homes’ children, as well as children from surrounding areas. There are plans underway to build two new classrooms to teach students through grade seven for the 2011 school year.  www.africanleadershippartners.org
