Kidwell Park FAQ

How will I be notified if my child needs me during the service?
On Sunday mornings, we use a pager system for our nursery, and a security card system for our Preschoolers. (If you have a child Kindergarten - 4th grade, you may request a card so we can notify you in the sanctuary.) When signing your child in, you'll receive either a security card or pager that matches a numbered nametag for your child to wear. Pagers and security card numbers are used to notify you if your child has any problems while you are in the service. On Sundays, if there is an emergency, we will notify you by flashing the security card number on the AV screen in the sanctuary. If your number is displayed, we ask that you come immediately to check on your child. The matching security card or pager must also be presented in order to pick up your child.
How are volunteers screened?
All Kidwell Park volunteers and staff go through an application process, are thoroughly screened PRIOR to any one-on-one interaction with the children. If over the age of 18, they are required to have a national background check. All volunteers under the age of 18 work in conjunction with other adults. In general, we do not leave children alone with only one adult.

How Can Parents Be Involved?

You as a parent have the most influence in your child’s spiritual development. We want to partner with you and work as a team in this process. Below are some suggestions for ways to be involved:

Weekly Take Homes

Each week your child may bring home crafts, memory verses, and other material related to a Bible story or concept that they learned that week. Discuss them as a family and read the story together from a kids’ Bible.

Get to Know the Small Group Leaders

Introduce yourself to your children’s small group leader and find out what they are doing in their small group time.

Memory Verses

Help your kids memorize the verses they bring home. You can memorize it together as a family and look it up in the Bible.

Bibles

Find a Bible that works for your child. Encourage Bible reading to be part of your child’s book-reading routine.

Giving

Children’s offering is collected during large group, and it goes to a Compassion International sponsor child with amounts over our monthly compassion pledge going to mission work. We encourage you to talk about stewardship, what God has given your kids, and how they can give their gifts.

Volunteer

Maybe you would like to join one of our many fun teams! We have a variety of opportunities for you to serve in our ministry. Your service can speak loudly to your kids about the value you place on spiritual development of children. With the help of an amazing team of committed volunteers, we are able to share God's grace and love in a safe, Christ-centered, relevant, relational and fun way for kids birth through 4th grade.
