W.O.W. Classes

W.O.W. (What’s on Wednesdays) will be taking a break for the summer. We will resume meeting this fall, August 27th. For a listing of the fall classes, see below the Core Classes descriptions.

Core Classes
Four Core Classes have been identified in our hope that every member would have an opportunity to take them in their planned order. It is our goal that the core classes will help church members to grow in their faith and to enjoy the abundant life that God intends.

Core Class 1: Discovering Bidwell Pres:

This class is for individuals seeking to explore the Christian faith as well as the life and ministry of Bidwell Presbyterian Church. Attending the class does not mean that you are committed to membership with the church. We welcome the opportunity to get to know you a little better and to help you
make an informed decision about the Christian faith and our congregation. We will focus on what we believe about Jesus Christ, the Presbyterian denomination, and our church. You will learn about our programs designed for spiritual growth, community, and service. We’d love to have you become a part of the church family! Materials for the course will be provided free of charge.

Core Class 2: Gifts and Call:

Would you like to learn more about your personality, your passions, and your possibilities? Gifts & Call provides an opportunity to intentionally and reflectively discern how God has wired you, and gifted you to serve His church and His world. Plan to attend all sessions if possible. Pre-registration is required.

Core Class 3: Bible Basics (An Intro to the Bible)

Have you ever wanted to know more about the Bible, but feel that your questions are, well, dumb? Are you new to the Christian faith and want to know more about the book the church calls “God’s word”? This class is for you! Come and get an overview of the entire—yes, the entire—book of scripture in five weeks.

Core Class 4: Getting Closer to God through Introduction to Christian Spirituality

Do you know what class the second largest church in U.S., Willow Creek, found was desperately lacking for their 20,000 attenders and members? A course on spiritual disciplines. Their discovery is that, in order to grow in being Christ-centered, we need to know how to pray, how to read Scripture, how to serve the poor, and how to tithe. And that’s exactly the four disciplines our BPC core 4 class will do—while mining the depths of our amazingly rich biblical and theological tradition. Are you ready to go deeper into the heart of God? Then join us on this journey!

W.O.W. TERM 1 , AUGUST 27TH-OCTOBER 1ST, 2008. Pre-Registration is now required for all classes. Classes with recommended books will require pre-payment for book in order for the office to know how many books to order.

Class catalog with complete class descriptions and listing of facilitators are now available through the church office or at the Start Here table on Sundays.
