Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC) for the Congregational Care Pastor

Congregational Meeting July 24th - Results
BPC members enthusiastically and unanimously voted to have Shannon Christopher be installed as our new Associate Pastor for Congregational Care.  Shannon will officially join the BPC staff on August 16, 2011.  With Shannon's election, the APNC has officially completed its job and has been dismissed with thanks for a job well done.

June 29, 2011 Update
As many of you have probably heard, the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee has nominated Shannon Christopher to be our new Associate Pastor for Congregational Care.  Shannon impressed the APNC and the Senior Staff with her warmth, passion for care ministry and love of Jesus Christ.  She is a recent graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary.  Prior to attending Princeton, Shannon spent 7 years working at a national law firm in Chicago.  The APNC is enthusiastically unanimous in their selection of Shannon. 

On Sunday, July 24, Shannon will be presented to the congregation by the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee.  According to our polity, the recommendation of the APNC must be voted upon by members of the congregation.  Shannon will be introduced and then preach at the 8:30 and 9:45 worship services.  We will not hold an El Rey service on that Sunday.   Instead, we will have a congregational meeting following the 9:45 service.  Following the meeting we will have a reception for Shannon on the patio. 

May 17, 2011 Update
The APNC has now reviewed over 100 PIFs and viewed several video sermons of candidates. They have narrowed their search and interviewed a few great candidates. They will be checking references and doing further interviews in the coming weeks. Please pray for them as they seek God's guidance in calling the right person to the job!

April 18, 2011 Update
The APNC has now reviewed close to 100 PIF's.   Currently the team is continuing the PIF review process and at the same time reviewing video's of several candidates.  They will continue to read, watch, pray for God' direction as the process continues.  Please pray for the team as the meet weekly to complete this work.

March 24, 2011 Update
The APNC has been diligently reviewing PIF's for the past four weeks.  They are excited to have a large selection to review and have been in contact with several candidates, taking them to the next step in the review process.
