Give With A Joyful Heart

What Is A Tithe?

As people of faith, God asks us to give faithfully. He hasn’t blessed us financially to increase our standard of living, but to increase our standard of giving.

A ‘tithe’ is 10% of our income.

Consider two words: ownership and stewardship.

Ownership: It all belongs to God. The question isn’t, “How much of my wealth should I give to God?”, but rather, “How much of God’s wealth should I keep for my use?”

Stewardship: How will you steward the treasure, time, talent He’s given you?

The Bible uses the term ‘first-fruits’ to describe how to give. To give our first-fruits, look at your gross income, and give accordingly.

In light of scripture, we teach and encourage you to be a generous, cheerful, sacrificial, and consistent giver. Pray about what He wants you to give. What lifestyle adjustments will allow you to give faithfully?

Giving is an issue of God’s ownership and our stewardship to make His kingdom great.

What about Bequests and Planned Gifts?

By making an estate plan, you help ensure a better future for your family, and you can bless the work of Bidwell Pres. Please consider including the church in your will or trust with a simple statement such as this: I give and bequeath the sum of $____ (or a percentage) to be used for the general program of Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Chico, Ca, USA. …LEARN MORE
