Jeff was born in Rochester, New York, and raised in Ventura County. He graduated Chico State and decided to stick around Chico! Jeff has been at BPC since 2008. He has 2 kids, Evelyn and Max. Class of 2017.
Tim has been coming to BPC since 2007. He was attracted here by the genuine welcoming atmosphere, acceptance, and grace. Tim is a nurse and enjoys serving with passion. He has an adult daughter who lives in Colorado. He enjoys hiking, cycling, and taking photo snap shots. Class of 2018. email Tim
Sue recently retired from Chico State, where she was a Professor of Theatre and Dance. She and her son, Cameron, started attending BPC in 2006, warmed by the welcoming atmosphere and blessed by the insightful teaching. For years Sue has enjoyed singing with the BPC Gospel Choir- which is where she met her wonderful husband, Randy Benson. Class of 2018. email Sue.
Randy and his wife, Fay, and their daughter, Anya, have been members of our congregation for over 5 years. He was born and raised in Chico but moved away and spent half of his life living in Southern and Northeastern states. Randy enjoys traveling, doing family stuff, and collecting stamps. He is honored to serve the church as a deacon and to carry out God’s plan for his life. Class of 2017.
Ben is a project manager at Chico Electric and Lauren is a high school teacher. They met at Chico State eight years ago, where Ben received a math degree and Lauren a social studies degree and teaching credential. They are very happy to call Chico home, and love spending time with friends. Class of 2018.
Debra started attending BPC in 2007 and felt immediately welcomed. She was raised in a Christian family and church has always been a very important part of her life. She is a nurse and has worked for Public Health Departmens of over 30 years. Debra enjoys singing in the Chancel Choir and being a part of Stephen Ministry. Class of 2019.
Mickey and her husband, Jerry, have attended BPC for 3 years. They have been married for 55 years and have 3 children, 6 grandchildren. Mickey has been involved in many activities at BPC, and credits the staff and others at our church for a maturing of her faith in God. She is honored to serve BPC as a Deacon. Class of 2019.
Judy and her husband, Terry, have been a part of BPC for 15 years. She has volunteered in the nursery and helped in the office, mostly in Children's Ministry. Judy has enjoyed the Wednesday night dinners and classes, attending worship with daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Ray Quinto, and participating in Trick or Trunk with their grandkids, Amy and Nathan. Kris feels blessed that she and husband, Jim, have found a spiritual home at BPC. Kris was invited to join the Care team and that inspired her to serve as a deacon. Kris works with non-profit agencies that help women and children. Class of 2019. email Kris.
Janee and her husband, Scott, have been attending BPC for the past 12 years. She feels blessed to be a homemaker caring for their two sons, Cole and Chase. Janee has a heart for social work and volunteering in our community. She is involved in the W.E.B. (Women Esperiencing the Bible) planning team and is excited to serve as a Deacon for BPC. Class of 2019.
Sungok has been attending BPC since 1981. Sungok and her husband, Haedong, have two children, Joshua and Stephanie. She worked as a physical therapist at Enloe before retiring this year. She enjoys oriental flower arranging and walking in Bidwell Park. She says she has grown her faith and relationship with Christ Jesus through participating and serving in the ministries at BPC. Lauren Mesa and her husband, Rick, have been joyfully attending BPC for over 8 years. They are the parents of Gabriel and Katie, who live in Chico, which they count as a great blessing. An artist and writer, Lauren offers children’s art camps through Kidwell Park and contributes to our church devotionals. She also teaches at WOW and WEB, and enjoys any opportunity to be with God in nature. Class of 2018.
Sheryl and her husband, Jim, have two grown sons living in Chico. Sheryl has enjoyed working as a legal secretary, office manager, personal assistant, and caregiver. She loves the people of BPC and the heart they have to serve the Lord and our community. Class of 2018.
Mardy is retired and loves to spend her time volunteering with the Cancer Shop, the Jesus Center, Run for Food, BPC, and anywhere God might lead her. She and her husband, Jim, have been married for 50 years. When Mardy is not volunteering somewhere, she enjoys time with her grandchildren. Class of 2018. email Mardy
Susan has been a part of BPC for 11 years after she moved here from Redding. She taught for 34 years before retiring in 2005. Her son, Andrew, lives in Auburn, and her daughter, Hillary, and family live in Texas. Susan is thrilled to be able to serve the Lord and BPC as a deacon. Class of 2018.
Penny has been at BPC for 15 years. She is retired from teaching as a Fine Arts Specialist for Chico School District in 2015. She and her husband, Jeff, have 2 grown children. Penny has enjoyed facilitating RLGs, Bible and Alpha groups and enjoys helping others in her capacity as a deacon. Class of 2017. email Penny
Jeff retired last year from Rice Experiment Station, as Plant Pathologist. He enjoyes doing science with kids at Citrus Elementary School, volunteering as master gardener, and hanging out with family and friends. He looks forward to being a Deacon. Class of 2019
Ruth served as a deacon in her church in Escalon and enjoyed serving the Lord in this way. Ruth and her husband, Victor, have been at BPC for 2 years. She likes this church because of the friendly people and the encouragement to become members and serve. She has enjoyed studying God’s Word in BSF for 12 years. She and Victor enjoy bird watching together. Class of 2017.
Victor lives in Los Molinos, with his wife, Ruth. They moved here from Escalon, where they both served as deacons at Escalon Presbyterian Church. They have 4 daughters and 16 grandchildren. Victor enjoys serving the Lord and the church as a deacon. Class of 2017. email Victor
Andrea went to Chico State, moved away, and then returned in 2006. She started attending BPC in 2008. Since then she has undergone some dramatic life changes. With God’s love and grace she has been able to go through it all, learning she is a much stronger person than she thought. She enjoys serving as a deacon at BPC. Class of 2017. email Andrea
Brenda has lived in Chico most of her adult life, having first come to Chico to attend the university. She has two adult sons that also live in Chico.
